§ 26-2. Greenwaste disposal at county convenience centers.

Latest version.
  • Greenwaste is defined as logs, limbs, leaves, grass and brush. Greenwaste generated in non-commercial activity may be disposed of at county convenience centers that are equipped to accept greenwaste. Greenwaste may not be placed in compactors for household garbage or compactors for non-commercial demolition and construction debris. The county, or its designated agent, by contract may limit the amount of greenwaste disposed of in a single load, specify the size of logs or limbs that are accepted, and charge an appropriate fee for greenwaste disposal, with the amount of fees clearly posted and a receipt given for each transaction. Greenwaste for disposal at a convenience center shall not be contaminated with plastic bags, wire, string, rope or other unacceptable waste. Violation of this section shall be considered a violation of the county criminal littering ordinance (sections 26-121 et seq.), and punished accordingly.
