§ 2-765. Designation of responsible official for grievance procedures as set forth by state and federal law.
(a)
Pursuant to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), including Title I of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), the county in its efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities as provided by the EEOC, including any investigation of any complaint communicated to the county alleging noncompliance or alleging any actions that would be prohibited by the EEOC, hereby designates the human resources director appointed by the county mayor as its Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance officer. The human resources director will serve as EEO officer for all county departments unless an elected official with responsibility for such department designates another person as the EEO officer to serve that elected official's department.
(b)
The county shall adopt and publish grievance procedures providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action that would be prohibited by the EEOC.
(c)
The human resources director has the overall responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of the county's equal protection policy as set forth by the EEOC, as well as authority over the internal procedures employees use to settle EEO and harassment claims.
