§ 2-394. Additional personnel, 1973.
(a)
There is hereby created one additional assistant district attorney general to the district attorney general for the third judicial circuit of the state, who shall be appointed by the district attorney general of the third judicial circuit, shall serve at the pleasure of such official, and shall perform such duties as may be assigned to him by the district attorney general. The assistant district attorney general provided for in this section shall be licensed to practice law in the state, and his compensation shall be as provided by T.C.A. § 8-7-201, payable in equal monthly installments from the state treasury.
(b)
There is hereby also created, in addition to the position created under subsection (a) of this section, one additional assistant district attorney general and/or criminal investigator to the district attorney general for the third judicial circuit of the state, who shall be appointed by the district attorney general for the aforesaid circuit, and shall serve at the pleasure of such district attorney general, and shall perform such duties on behalf of the state as may be assigned to him by the district attorney general. The assistant and/or criminal investigator, as part of his duties, shall investigate crime and take statements of witnesses in felony and other cases and assist in carrying out the duties of the office of the district attorney general. The duly appointed assistant and/or criminal investigator shall have the same authority and power as is conferred by law upon criminal investigators by Chapter 487 of the Public Acts of 1968. His compensation shall be as is provided by T.C.A. § 8-7-201, payable in equal monthly installments out of the state treasury.
(c)
There is hereby created one additional secretary to the district attorney general for the third judicial circuit. Such secretary shall be appointed by the district attorney general, and shall serve at the pleasure of such official. The per annum salary for such secretaries shall be determined and set by the executive secretary of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference, with the approval and concurrence of the district attorney general for the third judicial circuit. Such compensation shall be not less than the salary which is currently being paid to the various secretaries to the district attorney general of the third judicial circuit. Such salary shall be payable in equal monthly installments out of funds of the state appropriated for such purposes.
