Prior to any real property being purchased or sold by the county, a current appraisal
(within the last 12 months) by a certified appraiser must be obtained and made available
to the county commission prior to their consideration. Real property, however, that
is the subject of a tax sale and/or where the value of the real property may not exceed
the cost of an appraisal is hereby specifically excluded from this requirement. The
procurement director is authorized to make the determination of whether the cost of
a particular property may not exceed the cost of an appraisal.
