§ 2-610. Authority of the procurement director.

  • The procurement director shall have the following authorities and responsibilities:

    (1)

    To serve as the central procurement and contracting authority of the county.

    (2)

    To contract for, purchase, lease-purchase, lease or otherwise acquire all procured items for the county.

    (3)

    To sell or otherwise dispose of surplus county property.

    (4)

    To enter into agreements and property transactions or projects with any federal or other governmental body.

    (5)

    To exercise general supervision and control over all warehouses, storerooms, and stores, and of all inventories of supplies belonging to the county and purchased pursuant to this article.

    (6)

    To establish and maintain a program for the development and usage of standard specifications.

    (7)

    To establish and maintain a program for the inspection and testing of supplies, construction, and services, or any other item.

    (8)

    To establish, maintain and promote a program to increase the procurement of recycled products and recyclable products.
