§ 6-42. Disposal of bodies of dead animals.
(a)
Any owner of any animal, upon the death of such animal, shall immediately dispose of the carcass by burying at least two feet below the surface of the ground and at least 50 from any water source, or by any other authorized method of disposal; provided however, nothing in this section shall prohibit the disposal of such carcass to rendering companies licensed to do business in the county.
(b)
It is unlawful to dispose of the carcass of any animal by dumping such carcass on any public or private property.
(c)
Any owner of any animal shall be responsible for the costs of disposing of the animal carcass in instances where the animal control division disposes of the animal due to any emergency or the owner's failure to act.
