§ 62-303. Yield to authorized emergency vehicles.

  • (a)

    Upon the immediate approach of an authorized emergency vehicle making use of audible and visible signals meeting the requirements of the applicable laws of this state, or of a law enforcement vehicle properly and lawfully making use of an audible signal only, every pedestrian shall yield the right-of-way to such authorized emergency vehicle.

    (b)

    This section shall not relieve the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle from the duty to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons using the roadway nor from the duty to exercise due care to avoid colliding with any pedestrian.
