§ 62-91. Citation on illegally parked vehicle.

  • (a)

    Whenever any motor vehicle without a driver is found parked, standing or stopped in violation of any of the restrictions opposed by ordinance of the county or by state law, the officer finding such vehicle shall take its registration number and may take any other information displayed on the vehicle which may identify its user, and shall conspicuously affix to such vehicle a parking citation directing him to either appeal the citation to the sessions court within three days of issuance, or pay the fine assessed for the violation.

    (b)

    Citations are to be filled out completely with information regarding the owner of the vehicle, the address of the owner and the license plate on the vehicle in question.

    (c)

    Citations are to be turned into the general sessions court clerk's office within 24 hours of being written. The citation shall not be placed upon the court's docket unless an appeal is made within three days of the issuance of the citation. The appeal must be made in person at the clerk's office. If appeal is made, upon final determination by the general sessions court all court costs normally accruing in cases in the general sessions docket shall accrue on the appeal.
