§ 62-54. One-way roadways.

  • (a)

    The department of engineering and public works is hereby authorized to establish one-way roadways, or reverse the direction of or permit two-way operation on any roadway, as may be necessary, based on an engineering and traffic investigation.

    (b)

    Whenever the department of engineering and public works designates any one-way roadway, the department shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof, and no such regulation shall be effective until such signs are in place. Signs indicating the direction of lawful traffic movement shall be placed at every intersection where movement of traffic in the opposite direction is prohibited.

    (c)

    Upon those roadways, and parts of roadways designated in accordance with subsection (a) of this section, vehicular traffic shall move only in the indicated direction when signs indicating the direction of traffic are erected and maintained at every intersection where movement in the opposite direction is prohibited.
