§ 62-51. Crosswalks, traffic lanes and safety zones.

(a)

The department of engineering and public works is authorized to designate and maintain crosswalks, by appropriate marks upon the surface of the roadway, at intersections and at such other places where an engineering investigation indicates there is a particular danger to pedestrians crossing the roadway.

(b)

The department of engineering and public works is authorized to mark traffic lanes upon any roadway where a regular alignment of traffic is necessary.

(c)

The department of engineering and public works is authorized to establish safety zones of such kind and character and at such places as may be deemed necessary for the protection of pedestrians.
