§ 62-12. Putting dangerous substances on roadway.

  • (a)

    No person shall throw or deposit upon any roadway any glass bottle, glass, nails, tacks, wire, cans, or any other substance which may cause a hazardous condition to exist or is likely to injure any person, animal, or vehicle upon such roadway.

    (b)

    Any person who drops, or permits to be dropped or thrown, upon any roadway any destructive or injurious material, or material which may cause a hazardous condition to exist, shall immediately remove such material or cause it to be removed. If any such material is not expeditiously removed by the responsible person or organization, removal of the material may be ordered and the cost of such operations recovered.

    (c)

    Any person removing a wrecked or damaged vehicle from a roadway shall remove any glass or other injurious substance dropped upon the roadway from such vehicle.
