§ 58-37. Disposition of receipts.

  • The taxes collected under this division shall be deposited to the general fund of the county. Funds collected under this division shall be used to fund such projects and programs as would be reasonably deemed to promote tourism and conventions including the construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of arena, stadiums, convention, civic center, auditorium, athletic and tourist related facilities. The county is authorized to contract with any municipality within its boundaries, with the U.S. government, with the state or with any agency or instrumentality thereof with respect to such projects, programs and joint construction, acquisition, equipping, maintaining and operating such facilities and to use or pledge such tax collections to the payment of bonds or to contract itself or in conjunction with any or all of such named government entities with a public building authority with respect to construction, acquisition, equipping, maintaining and operating such facility and to use or pledge such tax collections to the payment of lease rental or financing obligations to a public building authority.
