§ 42-89. Penal farm facility.

(a)

The facility formerly known as the Knox County Penal Farm, together with all employees thereof, is hereby declared to be under the supervision, operation and control of the county sheriff. The penal farm facility shall be structured within the division of penal facilities of the county.

(b)

The penal farm facility shall house exclusively those prisoners who are county-sentenced and serving terms not to exceed the maximum allowed by state law.

(c)

The inmates of the county penal farm facility shall remain available for assignment to the director of the department of highways to perform work and duties upon the roadways of the county.
