Chapter 38. HEALTH AND SANITATION |

§ 38-59. Council established; purposes.
There is hereby established a community health council to:
(1)
Support and steer a health improvement process in the county, including the City of Knoxville and the Town of Farragut, with facilitation and support from the county health department.
(2)
Assess and evaluate health, the perception of health, the performance of the local public health system, and future conditions relating to health in the county, the City of Knoxville and the Town of Farragut.
(3)
Establish strategic objectives for improving health in the county, the City of Knoxville and the Town of Farragut.
(4)
Promulgate goals and objectives for the local public health system in the county, the City of Knoxville and the Town of Farragut in the form of an action plan every three years.
(5)
Communicate assessment results and action plans to community partners, the public, and the organizations and agencies of the local public health system.
(6)
Act as a forum for discussion and coordination of community-wide efforts to improve health outcomes and local public health system function in the county, the City of Knoxville and the Town of Farragut.
(7)
Act as an advisory body to elected and appointed officials in the county, the City of Knoxville and the Town of Farragut in matters of health.
