§ 2-905. Relocation assistance payments—Residential.

  • If the eligibility requirements set forth in section 2-902 are met, a relocation assistance payment for the purpose of reimbursing moving expenses shall be made to a displaced resident who legally occupies a dwelling at the time of its acquisition by Knox County in accordance with the following schedule:

    6 rooms 700.00

    Each additional room $75.00

     

    The above schedule excludes unfurnished or unused rooms, halls, baths, attics, porches, carports, garages, dressing rooms, and utility rooms. However, should a displaced resident have sufficient storage in carports, garages, enclosed porches, attics, sheds, or utility rooms, the relocation officer may count these rooms. The payment schedule provided for herein is based on relocation expense payments made by the Federal Highway Administration as provided in 42 U.S.C. § 4621, et seq. (the "base schedule"). In the event the base schedule is amended, the payment schedule provided for herein shall be deemed to be automatically amended to coincide therewith.
