§ 2-751. Definitions.

  • Adverse actions shall be personnel actions involving suspensions, demotions, and dismissals.

    Appointments means the selection and hiring of an individual for a classified position.

    Classification/compensation policy means a system of pay classification developed and used by the county government for its employees.

    Classified positions means all positions covered by the classification and compensation pay system. These positions shall be listed in the job classification system.

    Directors means those directors appointed by the county mayor for departments under his/her supervision.

    Hiring authority means the elected official, director, or other department head with budgetary control who selects or dismisses personnel.

    Human resources director means the head of the human resources department appointed by the county mayor.
