§ 2-839. Reporting of suspected illegal, improper, wasteful or fraudulent activity.

Any employee having direct or indirect knowledge of any suspected illegal, improper,
wasteful or fraudulent activity, or any violations of the county employee handbook
has an absolute, unqualified duty to immediately report such activities to his or
her supervisor, department director, or the director of human resources. Failure to
do so may lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination from employment
with the county.
