§ 2-554. Budget amendments.

(a)

Amendments to line items within a major category or accounts of the budget of the board of education may be made by the county board of education, and written notice thereof shall be given the county executive within ten days of such action. However, any such amendments to line items by the board of education must not exceed the revenue appropriated for the entire budget without approval and budget amendment by the commission. Amendments to line items within a major category or accounts of a budget, other than the budget of the board of education, may be made by a majority vote of the finance committee of the commission upon written notice to the county executive within ten days of such action.

(b)

Upon adoption of the consolidated budget by legislative action or by operation of law, any amendment to the budget of the county board of education shall first be approved by the county board of education.
