§ 2-396. Additional compensation, 1969.
(a)
All counties of this state having a population not less than 250,000 nor more than 300,000, according to the federal population census of 1960, or any subsequent federal population census, is hereby authorized, empowered and enabled to supplement the compensation paid by the state to six full-time assistant district attorneys general, the following amounts, to wit: not to exceed $3,000.00 per annum each. Such full-time assistants to the district attorney general shall devote full time to the duties of the office of assistant district attorney general and shall not maintain a private law practice while holding the office of full-time assistant district attorney general.
(b)
The county court and the board of county commissioners shall supplement, from its general or available funds, the aforesaid sums, payable monthly, which sums shall be by way of additional compensation for their services as paid by the state.
