§ 2-203. Emergency expenditures.

  • The county executive shall not authorize any expenditure to be made or any obligation to be created in excess of the appropriations for the various purposes and from the several funds of the departments or when revenues are not expected to meet or exceed those as made in the resolutions or ordinances of the commission, except on an interim emergency basis as authorized by law or ordinance and specifically approved by the county executive, who must impound funds within the budget equivalent to the overexpenditure. The county executive shall report the authorized action to the finance committee at the next regular meeting and request necessary funds on approval by the finance committee and county commission.
