§ 1-12. Official comments.

  • The county law director shall draft official comments for selected ordinances. The ordinances for which official comments will be drafted shall be determined by the county commission or the county law director. Official comments shall be considered with and voted on by the county commission when the ordinance to which any such official comment is included is voted on by the county commission. Official comments that are adopted with any ordinance shall appear in the County Code at the end of the ordinance with the caption "Official Comments." In any dispute as to the proper construction of an ordinance in the County Code, the official comments included with any such ordinance shall constitute evidence of the purposes and policies underlying such ordinance and the intent of the county commission in enacting any such ordinance.
