§ 18-239. Secretary, court reporter.

  • There is hereby created a secretary and a court reporter to Division II of the criminal court of the county. Such secretary and court reporter shall be appointed by the judge of such Division II and they shall receive the same compensation, payable in the same manner, as is now provided by law for the secretary and court reporter of the existing criminal court of the county. Such secretary and court reporter shall perform such duties as may be assigned to them by the judge of Division II of the criminal court of the county.

Secretarial assistance to judges and chancellors is now provided on the basis of need by the administrative director of the courts, under the provisions of T.C.A. § 17-1-401, and their salaries are set by the administrative director of the courts and the commissioner of finance and administration, with the approval of the chief justice of the supreme court, under T.C.A. § 17-1-402.
