Article II. TENNESSEE TECHNOLOGY CORRIDOR DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY |
§ 14-28. Definitions.
The following words or terms whenever used or referred to in this article shall have the following respective meanings, unless different meanings clearly appear from the context:
Authority shall mean the Tennessee Technology Corridor Development Authority created pursuant to the provisions of this article.
Board of commissioners or board shall mean the board of commissioners of the Authority.
Governing body shall mean the chief legislative body of the county or the chief legislative body of the City of Knoxville, as noted.
High technology business shall mean any public or private enterprise engaged in the research, development, production or support of new or emerging products or processes through the application of advanced technology in new or rapidly expanding markets, or any other business deemed by the board to be compatible with such businesses.
Municipality shall mean any city or county government having jurisdiction within the geographical area of the Authority as designated by this article.
Planning commission shall mean the Knoxville/Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission or any successor planning commission.
Technology corridor shall mean that geographical corridor described at subsection 14-30(b) of this article.
